Meet The Crew

With over 20 years of experience in the hair industry, Khiet is a skilled and passionate hairstylist. He started his career as a stylist, introduced to the industry by his brother who opened a barbershop. It was through a chance encounter with a classmate that Khiet discovered his passion for women’s hair.

Throughout his career, Khiet has worked at some of the top salons in Honolulu, including Marsha Nadalin, Kissa Salon, and W Salon. At Marsha Nadalin, he studied the Toni and Guy method of cutting which focuses on texture and movement, and at W Salon, he learned the Vidal Sassoon method which emphasizes precise, clean cuts.

Education is a key focus for Khiet, and he values the importance of continuing to learn and grow in the industry. After many years of experience, he was able to fulfill his dream of opening his own salon, SalonKit, located at the 808 Center on Sheridan Street in 2015.

At SalonKit, our goal is to create a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere where expertise and creativity can thrive. We strive to make each and every one of our clients feel unique and beautiful, offering a wide range of services including traditional barbering, coloring, and more extravagant and trendy styles like @theunicorntribe and extensions.

Frank Amodo is a house music DJ, producer, and label owner pushing the underground forward from Honolulu to the world. Behind the decks since the late ’80s, Frank blends raw energy with deep groove, carving sets that flow from jackin’ to soulful with a dancer’s intuition.

As a producer, Frank has dropped over 140 tracks between solo releases and collaborations, landing on respected imprints including Groovphoria Records, 4E&A Records, Chicago Skyline Records, CRMS, Cross Section Music, Rhythm Movement, and Niche Market Music, along with releases on Sunrising Records, The Underground Chronicles, That’s Right Dawg Music, Native Soul Recordings, Nine Sixteen Muzik, and Run To My Beat. His dedication has paid off with two singles hitting #3 on the Traxsource Jackin House charts, cementing his reputation as a name to watch in the scene.

He’s also the founder of Feel The Funk Records and Glitter Robots, two labels dedicated to keeping house music fresh, funky, and future-ready.

After taking a break, the love of music brought him back. He now enjoys playing all types of house music, classic, progressive, melodic, afro, tech, tribal, latin, and other genres such as techno and trance. He’s been live streaming for over three years on several platforms and excited to be part of the BarTek family.

Consultation

The first step in the hairstyling process at Kit Salon is a consultation with one of our experienced stylists. During this consultation, we will discuss your desired look and any specific needs or concerns you may have.
